As I travel on my own journey, I feel as though there are more pieces of my own puzzle that make more sense, as I move through different parts of my life. Sure, God could put it all together for me quickly if he wanted. However, we are not always ready to know things that are to come, and so we get each piece when we are ready. I have also come to understand how important prayer is in any situation. It helps me to understand my own role and that of others. I always want to be a blessing, yet I so often end up feeling so blessed by the privilege of meeting other people and learning what their part in the puzzle might be. There are many unexpected surprises when we do as a friend suggests and "take me out of your box". We all have different gifts, different roles, and are equally as important in the grand scheme of things. I remind myself of this with God's word, when I forget it. And we also should remind others of this - those who may not know that even people who cannot speak for themselves are equally as valuable. I am very glad I am not a lost piece of the puzzle.
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
And if they were all one member, where were the body?
But now are they many members, yet but one body.
